At many or most networking events we’ve been to, people get a half minute to 15 or 20 to tell their story. It’s the elevator speech - mostly presentation. Relatively low interactivity. After all, we’re supposed to be the experts. Right?
We know, or think we know, what it is we’re putting out there. Rarely do we get feedback on what anyone’s interpretation of our message was.
So, we did a very cool thing last week at JoeNetworks. We elected to to give feedback, ask questions, and brainstorm with a fellow member. We selected someone the week before and each of us took time in the intervening week to examine a presenter’s message and bring back what they got out of it.
And everyone had done that homework. Almost unbelievable.
Sandy was the first to to be selected and she set the bar really high. Her ability to hear, accept and balance, comments and critiques was amazing. I hope I do half as well when it’s my turn.
And, because I won the dollar pot, it is my turn next week.
So, tell me what you think. www.YourMessageDoctor.com
Be well,

P.S. Here’s a wonderful email Sandy sent after the meeting.
Good morning,
I would like to thank each and every one of you for your very valuable input regarding my business presentation and website. It was very helpful to hear what others see, hear and think about when they come upon this information. All of your input will help to make my business stronger, I do thank you.
What a wonderful resource this networking group is! The size of this group and the personalities that attend definitely make this type of process possible. Definitely an advantage over a large group, at least in this respect.
I wish you all a day filled with positive encouragement and reinforcement such as you shared with me this morning,
Sandy :)
