Starting JoeNetworks has brought a lot of light on possibilities
beyond the chambers of commerce and the franchises; BNI, TNC, ETC.
There are some independent opportunities that are closed to more than
one of any given profession.
And there are opportunities that are open.
I see it as similar to the difference between synthetic and organic.
I prefer the latter and that's is what I am attempting to create with
JoeNetworks.
At the last meeting there were a few regulars that are based in
Waukesha.
They allowed that they might be interested in doing something out
that way.
I told them it was easy. One, two, three.
1. Tell some people you will be somewhere
2. Be there and
3. Greet them.
It could take a little while to build a group and I, David, do not
have to be there to make that happen.
Some of the independent, yet closed, groups have a waiting list for
membership.
There is administration overhead to that function. I do not want to
be using potential work time to keep track of who is who at a free
meeting.
These are billable hours we're talking about.
I would like to create, or be part of, groups that are self-
administering and collaborative.
And so, ... we will think again about Yahoo Groups and Google Groups.
Honestly, as of this writing, there are no members.
As soon as there are members they can invite each other to functions
that they themselves coordinate.
